Valhalla Armory is provided by Asgard Solutions. This Privacy Policy applies to the Valhalla Armory mobile application and explains how application data, device permissions, purchases, and limited network services are handled.
Valhalla Armory Privacy Policy
How information is handled when you use the Valhalla Armory mobile application.
1. Local-First Storage
Valhalla Armory is designed as a local-first application. The app does not use an Asgard Solutions cloud database to receive, synchronize, or remotely manage the user’s armory collection.
Information stored locally may include:
- Firearm descriptions, manufacturer, model, caliber, and serial numbers
- Optics, accessories, magazines, parts, and storage locations
- Ammunition, reloading components, recipes, and completed batches
- Maintenance, range, competition, malfunction, and reliability records
- NFA records, permits, credentials, reminders, notes, tags, and custom fields
- Photographs and documents selected or captured by the user
- Other information the user enters into the application
Asgard Solutions does not remotely access these locally stored armory records.
User-controlled exports: If a user exports a report, CSV, photograph, document, or encrypted backup and saves or shares it outside the app, the exported copy is stored wherever the user chooses and is governed by that destination’s privacy and security practices.
2. Encryption and Vault Security
Valhalla Armory protects sensitive record values and private files with AES-256-GCM authenticated encryption before they are persisted by the app.
- A password-derived key and recovery-key-derived key are created using scrypt.
- A random 256-bit data-encryption key protects vault content.
- Cryptographic material used by the app is stored through the Apple Keychain or Android Keystore using the operating system’s secure-storage service.
- The user’s password is not stored as plaintext.
- Encrypted backup files use a separate backup passphrase selected by the user.
No electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users remain responsible for protecting their device passcode, vault password, recovery key, backup passphrases, and exported files.
3. No Online Account or Cloud Sync
Valhalla Armory does not create an Asgard Solutions online account for the user and does not provide cloud synchronization between devices.
There is no remote password-reset service. The vault password and recovery key are the available access methods, so users should store the recovery key securely.
4. Limited Network Services
The armory-management features are designed to remain usable without an internet connection. The current application code includes limited network-facing functions that are separate from the encrypted armory records:
App Store and Google Play
Apple or Google may process installation, purchase, refund, restoration, store-account, device, and diagnostic information under their own terms and privacy policies.
RevenueCat Purchase Verification
RevenueCat is used to retrieve the Premium offering, process or restore the one-time Premium purchase through the applicable application store, and verify the Premium entitlement.
The app creates a random, app-managed RevenueCat App User ID and stores it in secure device storage. RevenueCat may receive and process that identifier, purchase or receipt information, entitlement status, and technical information needed to provide the purchase service. The app does not send firearm inventory, serial numbers, photographs, notes, documents, or other armory records to RevenueCat.
Expo Application Updates
The application is configured to use Expo’s application-update service for update delivery and error-recovery behavior. The app may contact Expo to obtain update metadata and application files. Valhalla Armory does not intentionally include armory records in those update requests.
User-Selected Links and Sharing
If the user opens an external website, application-store page, email link, or system share sheet, the selected destination may receive information according to the user’s action and that destination’s privacy policy.
5. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking
The current Valhalla Armory application does not include a dedicated third-party analytics SDK, advertising SDK, behavioral-tracking SDK, marketplace, or social feature.
Asgard Solutions does not sell or rent the user’s locally stored armory records and does not use those records for targeted advertising.
Operational services described in Section 4 may process limited technical or transaction information required to provide their functions. Apple, Google, RevenueCat, and Expo operate under their own privacy policies.
6. Device Permissions
Valhalla Armory requests device permissions contextually when the user selects a feature that needs them.
Camera
Camera access may be used to photograph firearms, documents, and range targets or to scan barcodes. Audio recording is not enabled for the barcode-camera configuration.
Photos and Media
Photo-library or system-picker access may be used when the user chooses an existing photograph for a locally stored record. The Android configuration blocks broad read access to the device’s image and video libraries and relies on user-selected access where supported.
Files and Sharing
System document pickers, file access, printing, and sharing may be used when the user selects, saves, imports, exports, prints, or shares a file.
Biometrics
Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or other supported biometric authentication is handled by the operating system. Valhalla Armory receives only the authentication result and does not receive or store biometric templates.
Notifications
Notification permission may be requested for maintenance or reminder notifications. These reminders are scheduled locally on the device. The current app does not register for remote push-notification tokens, and reminder text is intentionally generic rather than including serial numbers or collection details.
7. Data Retention and User-Controlled Backups
Vault information remains stored locally until it is changed, archived, disposed, deleted, replaced, restored, or erased through the application or device controls applicable to that record and platform.
Valhalla Armory does not automatically upload vault backups to Asgard Solutions. When the user creates an encrypted .vabackup file, the user chooses where to save or share it. The backup passphrase is not stored by Asgard Solutions and is required to restore that backup.
Files exported outside the app remain in the selected location until the user or the destination service deletes them.
8. Deleting Information
Record-specific archive, disposition, correction, reversal, or deletion controls vary by record type because Valhalla Armory preserves historical and audit information for some records.
For complete removal of the locally stored vault, the user may use the in-app Erase Entire Vault function. Depending on operating-system behavior, clearing application storage or uninstalling the app may also remove local application data.
Users must separately delete exported reports, photographs, documents, and backup files saved outside the app. Deleting the local vault does not delete purchase or transaction records maintained by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat.
See the Valhalla Armory Data Deletion guide for detailed steps.
9. Adults Only — 18+
Valhalla Armory is intended for adults age 18 and older and is not directed to children or minors. A person under 18 should not use the application.
The 18+ product target does not determine whether a person may legally purchase, possess, transport, store, or use a firearm or ammunition. Those requirements vary by jurisdiction and circumstance.
Because Valhalla Armory does not provide an online account or cloud collection service, Asgard Solutions does not knowingly collect a child’s armory records through the application. A parent or guardian who believes a minor has directly provided information to Asgard Solutions may contact us using the information below.
10. Legal Compliance and Responsible Use
Users are responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, local, and international laws concerning firearms, ammunition, storage, transportation, recordkeeping, transfers, and use.
Valhalla Armory is an organizational and record-management tool. It is not a substitute for legal advice, firearm-safety training, manufacturer instructions, or official government records.
11. Third-Party Services
Third-party services used or opened by Valhalla Armory may include Apple, Google, RevenueCat, Expo, email applications, web browsers, file providers, printing services, and destinations selected through the system share sheet.
Asgard Solutions does not control the privacy practices of those third parties. Users should review the applicable privacy policies before providing information or saving files to an external service.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Asgard Solutions may update this Privacy Policy when the application, its services, or legal requirements change.
- The “Last Updated” date will be revised.
- The current policy will be posted at this URL.
- Additional notice may be provided when appropriate.
