Raven Scout User Manual

A screen-by-screen preview of the Raven Scout app planned for launch on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Last updated: April 2026

Source of Truth

This manual is a screen-by-screen guide to the planned Raven Scout launch build. If a feature is not described here, it should not be treated as planned for launch.

1. Account: Sign Up, Sign In, Sign Out

The first screen offers two sign-in paths.

  • Continue with Google: one tap using your Google account email. No Raven Scout password is required.
  • Email + password: choose Create Account to register, or Sign in if you already have an account.

When you create an account by email, Raven Scout sends a 6-digit verification code to your inbox. Enter the code in the app to complete registration. Codes are valid for 15 minutes. If the email does not arrive within about two minutes, check spam and then tap Resend code.

Brand-new accounts start on the Trial tier with 3 lifetime AI hunt analyses, no credit card, and no time limit. Sign out from Profile -> Sign Out. Signing out clears the local session but does not delete your hunts.

2. Forgot / Reset Password

From the sign-in screen, tap Forgot password?, or from inside the app use Profile -> Forgot / Reset Password.

  1. Enter the email on your account.
  2. Raven Scout emails a 6-digit code from support@asgardsolution.io.
  3. Enter the code in the app, then set a new password.
  4. Sign in with the new password.

Limits

  • Codes are valid for 15 minutes.
  • Five wrong code entries on one code burn that code. Request a fresh code and start over.
  • Password-reset emails to unknown addresses silently no-op.
  • If you originally signed up with Google, add a password under Profile -> Set Password so both sign-in methods work.

3. The Home Screen

The home screen shows the Raven Scout brand, your Trial/Core/Pro tier badge, analyses remaining, a Manage Plan link, a welcome line, the Tactical Hunt Planning hero, and the primary NEW HUNT button. When you are out of credits, NEW HUNT changes to an upgrade button.

  • SAVED HUNTS: opens your hunt history.
  • CAPABILITIES: highlights Vision AI, Wind Logic, Overlays, and multi-species support.
  • Disclaimer: Raven Scout is a decision-support tool only. Verify land ownership, regulations, and safety independently.

4. Creating a Hunt - The 4-Step Wizard

Tap NEW HUNT to open the four-step wizard.

4.1 Species

Eight species are planned for the app. Trial users see all eight species, but Core/Pro-only species are locked with an upgrade prompt.

  • Whitetail Deer: Trial-allowed; bedding-to-feeding transitions, funnels, saddles, and edges.
  • Wild Hog: Trial-allowed; water, thick cover, trails, and dusk/dawn ambush planning.
  • Wild Turkey: Trial-allowed; roost-to-strut zones and morning open-ground setups.
  • Elk: Core/Pro; thermals, timber benches, and drainage-scale travel.
  • Black Bear: Core/Pro; mast, berry, agricultural targets, and food-phase movement.
  • Moose: Core/Pro; pond, willow-bottom, slow, tight, water-centric planning.
  • Pronghorn Antelope: Core/Pro; water holes and fence-crossing funnels in open country.
  • Coyote: Core/Pro; calling, downwind intercepts, and wind discipline.

4.2 Maps

Raven Scout supports two map sources that can be mixed freely.

  • Upload an image: choose from the device photo library or camera. Satellite, topo, onX/HuntWise screenshots, or hand-drawn property maps can work if they clearly show terrain. The app resizes large images before upload and has no hard MB ceiling.
  • Use the interactive map: open the MapLibre + MapTiler viewer, pan, pinch, switch Satellite/Hybrid/Topo styles, and tap Save Map Image. Captures store GPS bounds so later markers can derive real GPS coordinates.

Each hunt can save up to 5 map images. The first selected image is the primary image used by AI on every tier. Pro also cross-references additional images.

4.3 Conditions

Fill out the hunt context. Most fields auto-fill if location permission is granted.

  • Hunt date.
  • Time window: All Day, Morning, Midday, Evening, or Afternoon depending on species.
  • GPS coordinates, auto-filled from device location or entered manually as a lat, lng pair.
  • Wind direction: N/NE/E/.../NW. Core and Pro weather auto-fill can pre-fill this from forecast data.
  • Weather conditions: temperature, precipitation, and cloud cover. Auto-filled on Core/Pro; manual on Trial.
  • Weapon: Archery, Rifle, Muzzleloader, or Shotgun.
  • Method: Still Hunt, Spot & Stalk, Ambush, Tree Stand, or Ground Blind.
  • Species-specific fields: Sign Observed, Calling Activity, Vocalization Activity, Group Size, Travel Pattern, Aggression Indicators, or Season Phase Hint depending on species.

Known Hunt Locations

The optional Known Hunt Locations section lets you add fixed assets by GPS before analysis.

  • Type: Stand, Blind, Camera, Feeder, Parking, Access Point, or Custom.
  • Name: required.
  • Latitude / Longitude: required decimal degrees.
  • Notes: optional.

These locations are sent to the AI as fixed reference points. The AI is forbidden from repositioning your assets. Their stored GPS is preserved and they appear in Saved Markers with a User provided coordinate-source tag.

4.4 Review & Analyze

Review every selection, then tap ANALYZE HUNT. A progress overlay appears while the model runs, usually about 15 to 45 seconds.

  • The request sends the primary map image, and additional images on Pro.
  • It sends species, weapon, method, GPS, hunt date, time window, wind, weather, and Known Hunt Locations.
  • It returns AI analysis output, creates the hunt server-side, uploads Pro saved map images to private cloud storage, and persists AI-returned overlays as Saved Markers.
  • If analysis fails because of timeout, network drop, or an AI-rejected image, the app shows a retry banner. Retries do not double-charge a credit.

5. The Results Screen

5.1 Map + Overlays

After successful analysis, the primary map image renders with AI-placed overlays and a locked legend.

  • Stand: green pin; ranked stand placements.
  • Travel Corridor: orange predicted travel routes.
  • Access Route: blue recommended walk-in.
  • Avoid Zone: red sanctuary, pressure, or wind-busting terrain.
  • Other types: Bedding, Feeder, Water, Funnel, Recommended Setup, Custom, and related map references.

5.2 Top Setups

Results include 1 to 3 ranked tactical setups. Each setup can include entry strategy, exit strategy, wind risk, thermals risk, pressure-pattern risk, and the best time window.

5.3 Saved Markers Panel

The SAVED MARKERS panel is your personal waypoint layer. AI overlays and your own markers live together.

  • View details: tap a marker to see Type, GPS if available, Coordinate Source, linked Known Hunt Location, and confidence when AI provided one.
  • Add: tap + Add Marker, then tap the image in drop-pin mode. Enter Type, Name, Notes, preview placement, and save.
  • Edit: tap a marker, tap Edit, adjust Type/Name/Notes, and save.
  • Delete: tap a marker, tap Delete, and confirm, or use Delete in the edit form footer.
  • Drag to reposition: long-press about 220ms until highlighted, drag to the new spot, and release. The app recomputes and persists x/y and GPS when available.

Coordinate-source rules

  • Georeferenced in-app map images produce real lat/lng and use Derived from saved map bounds.
  • Uploaded images without GPS metadata produce only on-image x/y placement. Raven Scout never fabricates GPS for these.
  • Known Hunt Location markers preserve user-provided GPS. If dragged, the source switches to the appropriate derived or pixel-only label.

5.4 Tactical Brief

The written brief includes Summary, Wind Notes, Best Time, Key Assumptions, and Species Tips.

6. Saved Hunts

From the home screen, tap SAVED HUNTS. The list shows every hunt created on the device, newest first. Each card shows species, hunt date, and a green SAVED indicator.

  • Tap a saved hunt to reopen the full Results screen with overlays, markers, and brief.
  • An OFFLINE banner appears when your device has no signal and you are viewing saved hunts.
  • Tap the count strip for local-vs-cloud storage guidance.
  • Reopening saved hunts does not consume analysis credits. Marker edits, drag-to-reposition, and overlay deletes are also free.

7. Profile & Account Settings

Tap Profile from any screen. The page is divided into Identity, Subscription, Account, Security, Local Storage, Cloud Storage for Pro, Privacy & Legal, footer buttons, and app version.

  • Restore Purchases link.

After launch, live platform prices can vary by region. Reference prices are Core at $7.99/month or $79.99/year, and Pro at $14.99/month or $149.99/year. Purchases will route through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Cancellation must be done in your store account, and access continues through the paid-through date.

9. Buy Extra Hunt Analytics

After store launch, when you are running low on monthly analyses, buy a one-time top-off pack from Profile -> BUY EXTRA ANALYTICS.

PackPriceCredits
5 Extra Hunt Analytics$5.99+5
10 Extra Hunt Analytics$10.99+10
15 Extra Hunt Analytics$14.99+15
  • Packs are one-time and non-expiring.
  • Subscription credits drain first, then pack credits.
  • Packs stack on Trial, Core, or Pro.
  • Purchases will route through the Apple App Store / Google Play via RevenueCat.

10. Local & Cloud Storage

Raven Scout always keeps your hunts on the device that created them. Cloud backup is a Pro-only add-on.

Local

  • Every hunt's metadata, analysis output, overlays, and map images are written to local storage on save.
  • The Profile Local Storage card shows disk usage.
  • Auto-cleanup runs based on Cleanup Interval, with manual cleanup available.

Cloud - Pro

  • After a Pro analysis, saved map images upload to a private AWS S3 bucket.
  • Object keys are user-scoped: hunts/{userId}/{huntId}/{imageId}.
  • Download URLs are short-lived signed URLs, defaulting to about 60 minutes. There is no public URL.
  • Upload presigns expire about 15 minutes after issue.
  • Cross-device sync happens automatically the first time you sign in on a second device.
  • Cleanup jobs prune uploaded objects that were never linked to a saved hunt.

11. Security: Biometric Lock, Sessions, Account Deletion

Biometric Lock

Enable Face ID, Touch ID, or Fingerprint under Profile -> Security. When enabled, the app prompts on cold launch, not every screen change. You can disable it any time.

Sessions

  • A successful sign-in mints a session token good for 7 days from last refresh.
  • Active use refreshes the token automatically.
  • An expired session shows "Session expired. Please sign in again."

Password OTP

  • Reset codes are valid for 15 minutes.
  • Five failed attempts on one code burn it. Request a new code.

Account Deletion

Use Profile -> Delete Account. This removes your account, hunts, and Pro cloud imagery. After launch, active Apple App Store / Google Play subscriptions are not auto-cancelled; cancel them in the store. Written deletion requests use Profile -> Request Data Deletion, which opens an email to support@asgardsolution.io.

12. Offline Mode

Works offline

  • Opening any saved hunt, including map image, overlays, written brief, and marker details.
  • Viewing the Saved Hunts list.
  • Browsing the home screen, Profile, and About.

Requires connectivity

  • Running a new analysis.
  • Interactive in-app map tile fetch.
  • Weather auto-fill on Core / Pro.
  • Cloud backup and restore.
  • Buying extra analytics or changing subscription.
  • Sign-in, sign-out, and password reset.

The Saved Hunts screen shows an OFFLINE banner when it detects no network.

14. Tips & Common Workflows

Getting better AI output

  • Crop your map to roughly 0.5 to 2 square miles before uploading.
  • Make sure terrain features are visible, including trees, water, roads, and fields.
  • On Pro, upload a satellite and topo view of the same area for the strongest read.
  • Set wind realistically.

Saving stands you already know

Use Known Hunt Locations on Step 3. The AI treats them as ground truth and routes corridors or access around them. They appear as User provided in Saved Markers, with GPS preserved exactly as entered.

Re-using a hunt for a different day

Open a saved hunt if conditions have not changed. To re-run with different wind or time, go back, start a NEW HUNT, and reuse the same images.

Sharing a hunt

Raven Scout does not currently include a public sharing mechanism. Screenshots are the fastest option today.

Switching devices - Pro

Sign in on the new device with the same account. Pro hunts auto-sync from cloud the first time the app boots online. Trial and Core hunts stay on the original device.

15. Troubleshooting

  • "Couldn't reach our servers": switch to Wi-Fi or wait for better signal. Saved hunts still work.
  • "Analysis failed - try a tighter crop": crop to a smaller, terrain-rich area and retry.
  • "You've hit your analysis limit": upgrade, buy an Extra pack, or wait for the next billing cycle.
  • "Could not verify your purchase": after store launch, tap Restore Purchases under Profile or Subscription.
  • Trial says weather is missing: Trial does not include weather auto-fill. Type wind and temperature manually.
  • A marker is not where you dropped it after reload: confirm the image had GPS bounds when saved. In-app interactive maps have bounds; uploaded screenshots do not.
  • Pro features did not unlock after upgrading: after store launch, wait about 30 seconds, force-close, reopen, and tap Restore Purchases.
  • Code email never arrived: check spam, then resend. Codes are valid for 15 minutes and old codes invalidate when a new one is requested.

For anything else, email support@asgardsolution.io. Include your device model, OS version, app version from Profile -> About, and what you were doing when the issue happened.
