Overview
Raven Scout is a mobile hunting companion app that uses AI to analyze map imagery and hunt context. This policy explains what information is collected, where it is stored, which services process it, and how deletion works.
Information We Collect
- Account information, including email, optional display name, a bcrypt password hash for email/password accounts, or a Google OAuth subject id for Google sign-in.
- Hunt data, including species, weapon, method, hunt date, time window, wind, GPS coordinates when you choose to provide them, selected map imagery, overlay edits, saved markers, known hunt locations, and AI analysis output.
- Device and diagnostic data, including platform, OS version, app version, anonymous RevenueCat device id, and non-fatal client events such as storage failures or upload retries. Some diagnostic events may be associated with your account to support troubleshooting.
- After store launch, billing entitlement data, including subscription tier and renewal date from RevenueCat. Apple and Google will handle payment instruments; Raven Scout never receives your card number.
How We Use Information
- To create, save, reopen, and sync hunt analyses.
- To generate hunt-specific analysis outputs based on the data you provide, such as species, weapon, wind, weather, GPS, selected maps, and known hunt locations.
- For usage accounting for Hunt Analytics credits and subscription limits across Trial, Core, Pro, rollover, and Extra Hunt Analytics.
- To provide weather and wind auto-fill for eligible Core and Pro hunts.
- To provide support, troubleshoot errors, diagnose reliability issues, and protect the service from abuse.
What We Do Not Collect
- Contacts, SMS, call logs, calendar entries, or files outside Raven Scout.
- Background location. Precise location is only collected when you actively create or edit a hunt and choose to provide it.
- Advertising identifiers. Raven Scout does not include ads or ad-network SDKs.
- Your photo library beyond the specific images you select for a hunt.
- Your plaintext password, Google password, or payment card number.
Where Data Lives
- Account records, hunt metadata, overlay edits, and entitlement state are stored in MongoDB.
- Trial and Core map imagery stays on the device that created the hunt. Those tiers do not include cloud image backup.
- Pro map imagery may be backed up to a private AWS S3 bucket using user-scoped object keys and short-lived signed URLs. Upload links typically expire in 15 minutes; download links typically expire in 60 minutes.
- Password reset email is delivered through Microsoft Graph from support@asgardsolution.io.
Third-Party Processors
- OpenAI receives compressed map imagery and hunt selections only when you explicitly initiate an analysis, to produce overlays, ranked setups, and tactical briefs.
- MapTiler receives anonymous tile requests for the interactive map.
- WeatherAPI.com receives latitude, longitude, and date for Core and Pro weather and wind auto-fill.
- RevenueCat processes planned Apple App Store and Google Play entitlement state.
- MongoDB stores account and hunt records, and AWS S3 stores Pro cloud map imagery.
These processors do not receive your password or billing instrument from Raven Scout.
Security Controls
- All Raven Scout API traffic uses HTTPS/TLS.
- Passwords are salted and hashed with bcrypt; plaintext passwords are never stored.
- API routes that access user data require a valid session token.
- S3 access is user-scoped. A token for one account cannot generate signed URLs for another user's imagery.
- MongoDB and S3 at-rest encryption follow the providers' default encryption for the deployed regions.
Data Deletion
You may delete individual hunts in the app. To delete your account, hunts, and Pro cloud imagery, use Profile → Account → Delete account or see Raven Scout Data Deletion. After store launch, active Apple App Store or Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled separately in your store account.
